Remembering Jeff Buckley, fifteen years on.

Fifteen years since the great man passed. I've been listening to him for about twelve of those fifteen and have been commemorating this date with music and wine for the last eight (seriously, the entries are there if you feel like digging deep enough).

One thing I've come to realise over all this time is that there are generally two ways this date can go down: feeling sad and lonely and mourning what might have been or feeling glad that he got the chance to put out an album at all and generally rocking/blissing out to his back catalogue. I'm pleased to report that the fifteenth anniversary of his passing is tending towards the latter (I have a feeling it might be due to the fact that I have a drinking buddy this year!).

In terms of providing a bit of an update on the topic of last year's entry, turns out my prediction was right - Reeve Carney (@ReeveCarney on Twitter) has been handed the role of Jeff in the upcoming biopic and Patricia Arquette has been cast as Jeff's mother, Mary Guibert. No real other news on what stage the movie is up to, but to say I'm looking forward to seeing it is an understatement.

In the meantime, while we wait for the release of the biopic: here's to you, beautiful man.
